The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who require extra support.
Your ability to connect with students with special needs and motivate them is most important.
Hours are M-F from 9:
30am to 2:
30pm.
The pay rate is $25/hour.
The position would start this summer and continue through the next school year, possibly longer.
Responsibilities include:
Providing 1:
1 academic support across subject areas like Language Arts, Math, Science, and History.
The focus will be on helping the student grasp concepts and learn strategies to overcome challenges.
Helping build confidence and independence by teaching organization/time management skills in a structured but supportive environment.
Communicating regularly with parents to determine the student's needs and report on her progress.
Serving as a mentor and role model.
Connecting with the student to build self-esteem is essential.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with students who require extra support due to learning disabilities or processing difficulties.
A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Show compassion, patience and motivate students with special needs.
The ability to connect with the student is most important.
Have excellent communication skills to partner effectively with parents and educators.
